I Work with a Diverse Population of Adults, Adolescents, and Couples
I’m known as someone interested in cross-cultural issues and have published a paper on the experience of sameness and difference within the therapeutic relationship. I’m comfortable and enjoy working with those who identify in various ways related to gender, sexuality, race, and religion.
I have extensive experience working with people who have suffered from abuse and trauma, as well as loss and grief. For several years, I worked at a residential treatment center for anorexics and bulimics. (See my blog post on eating disorders if you’re interested in how I understand these complex issues).
I originally trained as a marriage and family therapist and still provide couples therapy.
Here’s a list of some of my other interests and specializations: Depression, Anxiety and Panic, Loneliness, compliance and accommodation, Intimacy and relationship difficulties, perfectionism, shame, self-esteem and self-blame, and conflict avoidance.
Lastly, I have extensive experience doing clinical supervision for both pre-licensed and post-licensed professionals.
